Welcome to our website! If you’ve landed here you’re probably considering going to a physical therapist (PT) to receive dry needling which we will refer to as dry needling acupuncture. Before you make your first appointment we hope to provide some education about dry needling acupuncture and perhaps after some further information you just might change your mind about when it would be safest and who would be most qualified to perform dry needling acupuncture on you for those sore aches and pains.

What is dry needling or dry needling acupuncture? The American Medical Association (AMA) has stated that dry needling is indistinguishable from acupuncture. Simply put, dry needling is acupuncture. From the perspective of a PT, dry needling (DN) is an invasive treatment used by physical therapists that uses an acupuncture needle to penetrate the skin and stimulate underlying myofascial trigger points, muscular, and connective tissues for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments.
